Nakadancho, Wajima City, in the northern part of the Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture.
This land, surrounded by mountains and rivers, is dotted with small workshops that have supported Wajima lacquerware.
Nurishi-ya Ichimatsu, located in one corner of the area, is a lacquer shop that was founded in 1921 and has been involved in the lacquering of Wajima lacquerware for three generations.

Nurishi-ya Ichimatsu adheres to the principle of "all processes in one workshop," in which all processes, from the base coat to the top coat, which are essential to Wajima lacquerware, are carried out in one workshop, and all products are finished by the same craftsman.
This is why we can produce products with consistent quality, from color and luster to texture and strength.

Wajima lacquerware is a highly practical type of lacquerware that is said to involve over 100 steps, from making the wood base to decorating.
At Ichimatsu, we apply a base coat of local diatomaceous earth and multiple layers of natural lacquer to Noto wood, creating a durability that can withstand daily use and a deep, captivating color.
The more you use it, the more glossy it becomes, and even small scratches will become part of the unique character of the piece.

The PECOLO PREMIUM PRODUCTS x Ichimatsu vessels are finished in the deep vermilion and luster that are characteristic of Ichimatsu, giving them a subtle presence in everyday life.
From deep within the many layers of lacquer, the gold leaf shimmers gently like light on the surface of water, quietly changing its appearance depending on the way the light hits it and the angle from which you view it.
Although it is a pet container, you will want to place it in the center of your home.
This is a collaboration aimed at creating a "Wajima lacquerware piece that will last a lifetime."
